Conservation

Eco Fishing Team is dedicated to promoting and supporting marine conservation.
The organization is doing their part by participating in catch and release tournaments that use non-offset circle hooks. Members make every effort to conserve resources not only while fishing but during their everyday lives.
All future proceeds generated from partnerships and support will be donated to protecting the environment. For 2011, the start of The Eco Fishing team tournament circuit efforts are going to “The Billfish Conservation Act of 2010” also know as “ Marlin off the menu act”.
The act fights the current law that prevents US commercial fisherman from catching Marlin to sell in the United States, however it allows foreign long liners to catch marlin outside the United States and sell them into the U.S. This not only hurts the U.S. economy but also has contributed to the depletion of the Marlin stock worldwide, which in some regions has declined by 80%
